Gas cooking hob: Another possible fire hazard?

Next project: Change the gas hob to induction hob. User Requirements There are many induction hobs in the market so we are spoiled with choices. One challenge that we had was to find the right size hob which can fit the existing opening at the cooking area. Another challenge is Dad wants to reuse his old pots and pans, some of which are stainless steel. Not all stainless steel cook-wares work on induction hob, the base of the pots and pans need to be of magnetic-based material. Induction hob uses magnetic field to heat up pots and pans. Ceramic hob is also another choice. Basically, it conducts heat slower than induction, but most stainless steel cook-wares can work.
